State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Department Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said that 5 million people are addicted to online gambling.
“Families are being destroyed due to online gambling,” he said on Thursday (July 4) in Dhaka.

He said the country’s money is being smuggled. “It must be stopped,” he said, adding that we cannot accept this.
Online gambling is now a threat to our social environment. People from all walks of life, from the common to the rich have been engaged in it.
Online gambling is a new threat to the country during the current economic recession. Young people are attracted to various gambling sites out of a kind of curiosity.
