U.S. Integrity and Odds On Compliance are merging, effectively combining two of the country’s largest legal sports betting oversight companies. They are rebranding themselves as Integrity Compliance 360. This is a sports betting compliance firm offering integrity monitoring services, advisement on compliance, and more.
“The coming together of U.S. Integrity and Odds On Compliance represents a strategic alignment of values and a shared commitment to excellence,” IC360 CEO Matt Holt said in a release. “As IC360, we are dedicated to providing our clients with 360-degree solutions that address their unique compliance challenges, ensuring they can operate with integrity and confidence in today’s complex regulatory environment.”
IC360 will maintain its oversight of several professional sports leagues, NCAA conferences, U.S. sportsbooks, and more.
Here is a deeper look at what the betting compliance merger means for the industry.
Impact in Full Effect
U.S. Integrity has a strong reputation as a compliance firm, having flagged several irregularities in the industry in recent years. One of the cases they were involved in was a college baseball game last summer. This led to the dismissal of Alabama head coach Brad Bohannon, who was allegedly involved in an insider information scheme.
More recently, U.S. Integrity found illicit betting activity connected to Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter, who subsequently received a lifetime ban from the NBA. The probe found that Porter placed at least 13 bets on NBA games using an associate’s online sportsbook account between January to March 2024. The bets ranged from $15 to $22,000 and totaled $54,094, resulting in a net profit of $21,965.
Porter did not bet on any game in which he played, though he was found to have wagered on Toronto to lose.
NBA players cannot bet on the NBA but can wager on other sports.
Odds on Compliance expects to expand its coverage area as part of the merger. It focuses primarily on online betting sites.
“With a comprehensive suite of services and leveraging the collective expertise of U.S. Integrity and Odds On Compliance, this is an evolution of a journey dedicated to setting industry benchmarks and creating a one-stop-shop for integrity and compliance needs,” Scott Sadin, COO of IC360, said via the release. “Integrity Compliance 360 looks forward to a future marked by continued growth, impactful partnerships, and a steadfast dedication to the highest standards of integrity and compliance.”
‘Significant Event’
IC360’s mission is to “continue to shape and enhance the future” by providing a central site for sports betting compliance. This is seen as a crucial means of regulation as the industry continues to evolve while becoming more mainstream.
“The merger of U.S. Integrity and Odds On Compliance, becoming IC360, is a significant event in the evolution of the asset class of sports, media, and entertainment to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical practices across the rapidly growing multi-hundred billion dollar global sports betting and gaming industry,” Wayne Kimmel, managing partner of SeventySix Capital, said in a release.
“IC360 will continue to shape and enhance the future by providing innovative, reliable, and trustworthy technology and services to teams, leagues, gaming operators, and regulators.”
IC360 announced the betting compliance merger last October after they worked in tandem on an oversight program called ProhiBet. Various sports leagues such as the UFC have operated under ProhiBet’s umbrella for live betting and more since its launch early last year.
Assessing the Landscape
Online sports betting is now legal in 30 U.S. states, plus the District of Columbia. North Carolina became the latest state to pass legalization, launching last month in time for the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. Six states also allow online casino gaming, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, West Virginia, Delaware, and Michigan.
This betting compliance merger will become more important as the industry evolves and betting odds are explained.
