The Masters is upon us once more, with the eyes of the world of golf firmly trained on the Augusta National course in Georgia for the coming four days.
Defending champion Jon Rahm is part of a stacked field at the first major of the PGA Tour calendar, with the Spaniard one of several star names who have defected to LIV since the 2023 tournament concluded.
Brooks Koepka, runner-up last year, is bidding to go one better in 2024 alongside expected challengers Scottie Scheffler and Hideki Matsuyama. Rory McIlroy is also back for another crack at a first major title since 2014.
The action was due to get underway on Thursday, March 11, with the early groups initially set to tee off shortly after 2 p.m. BST. However, with strong winds and heavy rain forecast, organisers have had to push back the start time, and further disruption is not ruled out.
Bryson De Chambeau was the clubhouse leader after the first day of play, sitting on -7, a stroke ahead of Scheffler. Tiger Woods enjoyed a decent start, too, carding -1 through the first 13 holes.
The action resumes on Friday, with some of the opening round still to be concluded as Round 2 begins.
