A potentially exciting summer for North American fans of international soccer is underway. Between Euro 2024, which kicks off on Friday, and the Copa America taking place Stateside, late June and early July will feature one intriguing international matchup after another.
But the busy upcoming stretch got off to a rough start for USMNT fans last Saturday night. Coach Gregg Berhalter’s team gave up two goals in the first 19 minutes en route to a 5-1 loss to Colombia in a friendly at FedEx Field.
With a crucial Copa America on U.S. soil set to kick off late next week, Berhalter and the USMNT need a strong response in Wednesday’s friendly against Brazil. USA-Brazil kicks off at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on TNT, Telemundo and Max.

There’s also value to be had from shopping around on Brazil to win in 90 minutes, as Brazil -205 (the current price at ESPN BET) represents a significantly better deal than -220 (DraftKings) or -230 (FanDuel).

USA vs. Brazil Goal Scorer Props
Bettors eyeing USA-Brazil can also bet on a number of props, including Anytime Goal Scorer, First Scorer, and Last Scorer (all of which are self-explanatory).
At DraftKings, Brazilian stars Endrick (+120), Vinicius (+140) have the shortest Anytime Scorer odds, while USMNT forwards Ricardo Pepi, Folarin Balogun and Christian Pulisic each have the same Anytime Scorer odds, +320.
The fact that eight players for Brazil have shorter odds to score than USA’s top forwards speaks to how uneven this matchup looks, at least on paper.
USA vs. Brazil Betting Analysis, Best Bet
Many American soccer fans have spent the past week lamenting the apparent plateau that the Berhalter-led USMNT has reached: this squad can consistently win CONCACAF competitions, but its record against elite international competition under Berhalter leaves a lot to be desired.
The 5-1 loss to Colombia followed a 3-1 loss to the Netherlands in the Round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup. Berhalter and the USMNT, it should be pointed out, did draw England in group play in Qatar, though.
In 2016, the last time USA played in the Copa America, it reached the semifinals with group stage wins over Paraguay and Costa Rica and a quarterfinal victory over Ecuador. That run ended with a 4-0 loss to Argentina in the 2016 Copa America semifinals.
For now, though, let’s move on to Wednesday’s USA-Brazil clash. Based on the USMNT’s issues against Colombia — a solid side that is currently No. 12 in FIFA’s rankings — a battle with No. 5 Brazil and its established, elite players at nearly every position could get ugly.
Another one-sided result on Wednesday night shouldn’t shock anyone. If nothing else, though, USA should come out motivated and locked in after early lapses put them in a hole they never emerged from against Colombia last weekend.
While USA will likely struggle in this game, even if Berhalter has his players much better prepared than they were for the Colombia match, there’s little value in taking Brazil at shorter than -200 odds.
With that in mind, consider taking a plus-money same game parlay available at DraftKings: Half Time/Full Time — Brazil/Brazil. For that to cash, Brazil will need to have a lead at halftime and win the match in 90 minutes (plus stoppage time).
Best Bet: Half Time/Full Time — Brazil/Brazil (+110) at DraftKings
