Cercle Brugge vs Killie preview
Kilmarnock head to Belgium with a 1-1 draw from the first leg, looking to secure a 3rd round qualifying spot.
An incredible 2,500-strong Killie support will make the trip over this week, with genuine optimism that a seemingly unlikely spot in the next round is plausible.
David Watson’s second half equaliser was the least they deserved on a night where a first leg lead was there for the taking.
Brugge should be better in this second leg but they – lead by striker Kévin Denkey who didn’t get a kick – will need to be, with Killie likely set up to be hard to break down.
Either way, it’s looking like a potential trip to Norway next for Killie regardless of the outcome, given the scores in their potential opponents’ games in the Europa and Conference League.
