Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich predictions

The fixtures don’t get any easier for top of the table Bayern Munich.

Last Saturday they faced defending Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen at home.

They then had to travel to England to face a resurgent Aston Villa in the Champions League on Wednesday.

And now this Sunday they make the trip north to face second in the table Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frankfurt are coached by Dino Toppmöller. This is his second season in charge.

Toppmöller was previously part of Julian Nagelsmann’s coaching staff at Bayern. He was sacked along with Nagelsmann in March 2023.

As an aspiring head coach, Toppmöller can enhance his reputation with a win over his former employers.

And he has a chance of achieving this. His Frankfurt team has made a positive start to their Bundesliga campaign, picking up 12 points from their opening five matches.

An opening weekend 2-0 defeat to Dortmund has been followed by five successive wins.

The most recent league win was a 4-2 away thrashing of Holstein Kiel on Sunday.

Frankfurt followed that up with a 3-1 win away at Besiktas in the Europa League on Thursday.

One of the main architects of Frankfurt’s impressive form is Omar Marmoush. He found the net in the victories over Holstein and Besiktas.

The Egyptian striker has started the season on fire, scoring six goals from his five Bundesliga starts. In all competitions, Marmoush has seven goals and five assists in his eight matches played.

Also in good form for Die Adler is Hugo Ekitike. The Frenchman may only have one Bundesliga goal, but he has four goals and four assists in seven matches played in all competitions.

Between them, the duo have played significant roles in getting Frankfurt up to second in the table.

All of those goal scoring exploits pale into insignificance when compared to Harry Kane this season.

The England captain has been in exceptional form. He has already bagged five in five in the Bundesliga. Chuck in the Champions League and the DFB-Pokal, and Kane has ten in eight.

Maybe crucially, none came in his last two games against Leverkusen and Aston Villa. But strikers of Kane’s quality often don’t go too long without a goal.

Overall, Bayern has had an exceptional start to the season. They are top of the Bundesliga, unbeaten, with 13 points from their five matches.

Munich started with four straight wins. Their 100% record ended last weekend when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Leverkusen.

Bayern had the better of the match with 70% possession and 18 attempts on goal. Leverkusen had just three.

Bayern followed those dropped points up with a Champions League defeat away to Aston Villa on Wednesday.

We expect a reaction from Vincent Kompany’s team when they visit Frankfurt on Sunday.

Frankfurt vs Bayern betting tips

Bayern are 11/20 with SBK to defeat Frankfurt and head into the international break with another win.

A wager on the Bavarians looks a safe bet. But if you are looking for bets with better odds, check out our alternative betting tips below:

Bayern to win and both teams to score

Frankfurt have scored in seven of their eight matches in all competitions this season. In total, they have scored 21 goals in all competitions.

Bayern has scored 30 goals in all competitions this season. They have only failed to find the net once in eight matches. That was in Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat away at Aston Villa.

After two matches without a win, we expect to see Bayern bounce back with a victory.

They dominated the early weeks of the Bundesliga. But failing to beat Leverkusen and losing to Aston Villa in the Champions League may have served as a reminder to Vincent Kompany’s team that they are not just going to be handed league titles and trophies on a plate this season.

A stung Bayern along with a strong Frankfurt attacking line up make this likely to be a high scoring match with both teams finding the net.

A win for Bayern and both teams to score at 71/50 with SBK

Over 3.5 cards in match

As we expect Bayern to have the majority of the ball and to dictate the match, we are basing this bet on statistics from their last couple of big matches.

Against Leverkusen last Sunday, Bayern picked up one yellow card. The visitors picked up three.

In the match against Aston Villa in the Champions League, Villa picked up three yellow cards, Bayern picked up two. In both those matches Bayern had 70% possession.

We expect Sunday’s match to follow a similar pattern, with the home side having to resort to some dark arts to try and stop the league leaders from playing.

A card threshold of four is low, making this a good value bet.

Choose Over 3.5 cards to be shown in the match at 79/100 with SBK

Omar Marmoush to score anytime

We already know that Omar Marmoush is in great form at the moment.

Playing Bayern will represent a step up in class from his team’s matches against Holstein Kiel and Besiktas. That will make Marmoush’s job of finding the net more difficult. As will the limited possession that Frankfurt are likely to have.

But the Frankfurt striker has been in red hot form this season. We know that Bayern will always give opponents a chance with their high line, and we expect to see them concede this weekend.

Why not Marmoush? He is in great form, and at odds of 3.95 he is well worth wagering on to find the back of the net again on Sunday.

Back Omar Marmoush to score anytime at 59/20 with SBK
