Juventus vs Lazio predictions

Juventus have aspirations to challenge for the Serie A title this season.

The Old Lady finished third in the table last season on 71 points, 23 behind winners Inter Milan. The club hasn’t won Serie A since the 2019/20 season, and for a club of this stature, that’s too long.

Juve are 5/1 to win Serie A this term. That makes them third favourites behind Inter Milan (4/6) and Napoli (7/2). Only AC Milan (9/1) are being given a realistic chance of winning the Scudetto outside of the leading three teams.

So far this season, things have gone okay. Juve are unbeaten – the only team in Serie A not to have tasted league defeat yet. But Thiago Motta’s team has only won three of their seven league games, drawing the other four.

Getting the balance right between attack and defence seems to be the issue.

Juve has only scored 10 goals in seven games. Second-placed Inter has 16. But at the back, Motta’s team has been miserly, conceding just one goal in seven.

In their most recent outing, Juve could only manage a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari. The hosts led for the majority of the match, but couldn’t find the second goal to kill off the Serie A strugglers.

Douglas Luiz gave away a spot kick two minutes from time. The resulting penalty was the first goal Juve has conceded in the league this season.

Opponents Lazio head to the Allianz Arena in good form.

Marco Baroni’s team has won their last four matches across Serie A and the Europa League.

The four-match winning streak has yielded 12 goals. More than Juve have scored in Serie A this season.

In their most recent outing, Lazio had to come from behind to beat Empoli at Stadio Olimpico. The visitors took the lead in the eighth minute through Sebastiano Esposito.

The hosts levelled the match four minutes into first half stoppage time through Mattia Zaccagni, with veteran Spanish forward Pedro coming off the bench to score the winner for Lazio six minutes from full time.

On the road in Serie A this season, Lazio has lost two and won one. The defeats came at Udinese (2-1) and Fiorentina (2-1). The win came at Torino (3-2). It was the third fixture of Lazio’s four-match winning streak.

Juventus vs Lazio betting tips

Juventus is unbeaten this season yet are odds-against to win at home. Goals have been hard to come by and the absence of the suspended Francisco Conceicao won’t help the home team’s cause.

On top of that Thiago Motta is also without the injured Arkadiusz Milik, Bremer, Teun Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez. None of which inspires confidence in a home win.

Below we have named our alternative betting tips on the Serie A clash:

Lazio and the draw in double chance market

Juve have a host of big names missing, a poor goal scoring record, and to top off Thiago Motta’s misfortune, Weston McKennie and Nicolo Fagioli both returned from international duty carrying minor injuries.

The duo are set to play against Lazio on Saturday. But history tells us that the first game back after an international break isn’t always the most productive for some players.

Lazio are in good form and are also finding the net regularly. The only injury they have ahead of the fixture is Manuel Lazzari. Other than that, the visitors have a clean bill of health.

Marco Baroni and his team will feel this is a good time to be playing Juve and will sense a chance to upset the vulnerable hosts on Saturday. We can see Lazio leaving Turin with something.

Both teams to score

Lazio has been scoring for fun in recent weeks. We know they have 12 goals in their last four games in all competitions.

Furthermore, the visitors have scored in all nine of their fixtures in all competitions this season.

As well as finding the net on a regular basis, the Biancocelesti are also conceding plenty.

They have only kept one clean sheet this season. That was in the 3-0 win against Dynamo Kyiv in the opening week of the Europa League.

Juve might not score many goals in Serie A. But they have found the net seven times in their three most recent matches in all competitions.

With the visitors also looking good for a goal, both teams to score at just under even money looks worth a bet.

Dusan Vlahovic to score first

Dusan Vlahovic has scored five goals in seven matches for Juve this season in Serie A. This includes three in his last two matches – a brace against Genoa and Juve’s only goal in the 1-1 draw with Cagliari.

Furthermore, the Serbian also scored a brace in Juve’s 3-2 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League, meaning he has now found the net five times in his last three games in all competition for Juventus.

To score anytime, Vlahovic is 7/4. To score first he is 9/2. He’s opened the scoring in two of his last three outings in all competitions. And in the other match (the Champions League win over Leipzig), Vlahovic scored the first Juve goal.

In what could be a low scoring match, a bet on Vlahovic to score first looks the best value bet.
