Day 4 of the NBA season has quite the competition.
On the first Friday of the new campaign, 20 teams will be in action, but they’ll all be taking a back seat to Game 1 of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees.
And if that’s not enough for you, have no fear. There are four college football games on the docket, and you can also turn your attention to the NHL, too. So don’t be shy.
Here are three picks we like to end the workweek:
New York Yankees at Los Angeles Dodgers Game 1
Los Angeles’ offense was on fire against the New York Mets in the National League Championship Series, averaging 7.7 runs during the six-game set.
Offense wasn’t hard to find for the Yankees in the American League Championship Series, as they hung at least five runs on the Cleveland Guardians in all five games. New York should be able to pick up right where it left off with Dodgers right-hander Jack Flaherty getting the nod for Game 1 of the Fall Classic.
Flaherty was shelled in his most recent outing, with the Mets getting to him for eight runs on eight hits in three innings.
At least one of these teams has to get on the board right out of the gate to set the tone for what is sure to be an amazing series. We’ve got six outs to work with, and we think that’s more than enough.

Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks
Something about Chicago lights a fire inside Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Over Antetokounmpo’s past 10 regular-season games against the Bulls, he has recorded at least 32 points on six occasions, at least 11 rebounds on eight and at least five assists on eight. In one of the games where he didn’t reach any of those marks, he played just nine minutes.
He’s just absolutely filling up the stat sheet against Milwaukee’s neighbor to the north.
There’s no reason to believe that Chicago will just magically be able to slow down Antetokounmpo on Friday, so you can’t go wrong with any of his player props.

Detroit Pistons at Cleveland Cavaliers

Detroit is coming off a disastrous 14-68 2023-24 campaign, but it looked energized on Wednesday night and almost took down the Indiana Pacers in what turned into a 115-109 loss.
The setback prevented J.B. Bickerstaff from notching his first win as Pistons coach, so how fitting would it be for him to land that milestone victory against the team that canned him back in May?
Surely Bickerstaff will have Detroit playing with a chip on its shoulder as he tries to get back at his former employer, and this could end up being a trap game for Cleveland after it faced little resistance in a 30-point blowout of the Toronto Raptors in its season opener.
