You can tell these aren’t Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines when they are two-touchdown underdogs at the Big House. You can now see why Harbaugh was so interested in an NFL job—the cupboard definitely wasn’t full.

The Wolverines are a mess, and there’s no hiding that fact. And top-ranked Oregon is just waiting to put up a bushel of points on its new Big Ten partner.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder are the last two unbeaten teams in the NBA. Cleveland will face a challenge by visiting the Milwaukee Bucks, while the Thunder could be in trouble against the rested Los Angeles Clippers on the second end of a road back-to-back.

We’ll check out three games on a busy sports Saturday.

OREGON DUCKS AT MICHIGAN WOLVERINES

Michigan (5-3, 3-2 Big Ten) may be defending national champions, but it is already out of the repeat possibility before it plays its first game in November. Back-to-back setbacks to Washington and Illinois were the big proof, but the Wolverines did bounce back to beat Michigan State last weekend.

Holding down Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel will be pretty tough. That 76.2 percent completion is no typo—I mean, 67.2 would still be great—and he’s the key cog in why the Ducks (8-0, 5-0) have topped 30 points in seven straight games.

Oregon is looking to be 9-0 for just the third time in program history, and the defense is stout, holding six opponents to 14 or fewer points. Michigan quarterback Davis Warren has thrown six interceptions and only three touchdowns. OK, so he’s not the future Elvis Grbac, Tom Brady or the second coming of that guy named Harbaugh.

The Wolverines will also be without their most talented player, cornerback Will Johnson (leg), for the second straight week. There is no showdown in Ann Arbor; the locals are just hoping it’s not a beatdown.

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS AT MILWAUKEE BUCKS

Who had Cleveland being the last Eastern Conference team to lose a game? It’s a fact: the Cavaliers are 6-0 entering Saturday’s road game against the struggling Milwaukee Bucks (1-4), the first of a home-and-home between the teams.

Cleveland has won five games by double digits, including a 136-106 road win over the Toronto Raptors and a 134-110 home win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Cleveland recorded a 120-109 home victory over the Orlando Magic on Friday, behind Winston Garland’s 25 points and Donovan Mitchell’s 22.

This is a good time to play the Bucks, as they have lost four straight games, all by double digits. Milwaukee was whipped 122-99 by the host Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday, and you would never know they have an elite duo in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.

While Giannis scored 37 points on 17-of-22 shooting against Memphis, Dame had four points and put up enough bricks to build an apartment complex with 1-of-12 shooting. Lillard will bounce back, but the Cavs look likely to take the first game of the back-to-back.

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER AT LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS

The Thunder (5-0) have won their first five games by an average of 18.6 points and are playing stellar basketball in the West. Oklahoma City posted a 137-114 road win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, turning 12 Portland third-quarter turnovers into 19 points during a dominant 38-17 period.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is doing his usual act and had 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists on Friday. Jalen Williams added 22 points as the Thunder achieved a season high for points.

The Clippers (2-3) lost home games to the Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns on back-to-back nights and remain without Kawhi Leonard (knee), not to forget the offseason departure of Paul George. So James Harden gets to run the team at age 35, and he’s faring well at 23.8 points and 11.6 assists per game, but those 6.2 turnovers per contest are a killer.

Los Angeles doesn’t have enough weapons to hang with the Thunder. But the Clippers are well rested while staying home, and Oklahoma City was traveling and getting in during the early a.m. hours, making those points look sparkling.
