Poland vs Scotland preview

Friday’s win was a much-needed for Scotland as they kept their hopes alive in the top tier.

They were good value for the victory in the end but Steve Clarke was the first to admit it could’ve been a better performance.

And it’ll need to be to get the result needed in Poland tonight.

Scotland are below the Poles on goal difference so only a win will do, though it’s still mathematically possible to jump both them and Croatia if results go our way.

Last time out, Scotland handed Poland a 2-0 lead at half-time in Glasgow before coming back to 2-2 and looking most likely to score a winner.

That until the visitors were awarded a 97th minute penalty which changed the course of the group and leaves Scotland facing a big task this evening.

Poland were thumped 5-1 by Portugal, so they could still be feeling the effects of that. Well, hopefully anyway…..

Not enough

I hope I’m wrong but it looks like we could just come up short in the group.

Poland need a win to leapfrog Croatia and clear the relegation play offs but they’ll also be making sure they don’t leave the door open for Scotland to relegate them outright.

Could be a cagey affair which would be music to the ears of the Croatian fans.
