GRID said in its announcement that this collaboration is a pivotal moment for the company and for “esports integrity” in general.
“Integrity is at the heart of GRID’s mission,” said GRID CEO Moritz Maurer. “By joining IBIA as an Associate Member, we are taking a definitive step toward establishing esports as a trusted and credible industry. This partnership enables us to further our efforts in promoting transparency, reducing risks associated with esports betting, and strengthening operational practices across the ecosystem.’’
Through this new association GRID and IBIA will work together to identify and address any integrity issues related to esports, working with stakeholders, and other parties with a vested interest in addressing the challenges related to esports-related betting.
GRID has been a certified member of IBIA’s Data Standards program since 2022, and has contributed to the development of several “tailored esports integrity protocols,” according to the announcement.
IBIA is a “not-for-profit body” that protects regulated sports betting markets from match-fixing. It represents over 50 betting companies operating over 125 sports betting brands.
