Arsenal vs Manchester United predictions
These are the two most successful clubs in the history of the competition. Arsenal has won the FA Cup 14 times, Manchester United 13.
The Red Devils are also the defending champions, having beaten cross-city rivals Manchester City 2-1 in the final last May. The win may have given United the bragging rights, but it also played a part in this season’s poor form, as it handed Erik ten Hag a stay of execution.
As for the Gunners, they last lifted the trophy in 2020. A 2-1 win over Chelsea was their last taste of glory in the world’s oldest cup competition.
Since then, Arsenal has struggled in this competition. In the following four seasons, the Gunners have gone out twice at the 3rd round stage twice, and twice at the 4th round stage.
And if they manage to exit the competition on Sunday, there could be pressure starting to build on Mikel Arteta.
With Wembley in sight, the Gunners lost 2-0 at defeat to Newcastle in the 1st leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday. Combined with league form that has seen them fall six points behind Liverpool, having played one game more, some fans are starting to question Arteta’s tactics.
The Gunners have dramatically improved under Arteta. But they always seem to end up as the nearly men. Fans are only so patient, and Arteta really could do with some more silverware after a five-year drought.
The omens aren’t great for Manchester United. They came up well short when the two teams met at the Emirates in early December, with Arsenal convincing 2-0 winners.
That was United’s first defeat under Ruben Amorin. And since the setback, United have been very inconsistent.
There was the remarkable 2-1 win away at Manchester City. But that was followed by a four-match losing streak, which was only ended by a 2-2 draw away at Liverpool on Sunday. Furthermore, United should have won the match against the league leaders.
So which version of United will turn up this week?
If it’s the one that matched Liverpool blow for blow at Anfield last Sunday, United will have a chance. If it’s the version that meekly lost to Bournemouth and Newcastle at Old Trafford, then United will be surrendering their FA Cup defense at the first hurdle.
Arsenal vs Manchester United betting tips
Arsenal is two matches without a win in all competitions. United are now five without a win. Both teams are likely to make changes to their starting elevens, with their respective Premier League fixtures taking precedent.
We are not expecting an FA Cup classic. There seems to be too much pressure on both teams. Arsenal probably need the win more than United, and we can see them sneaking a tight victory. Read more of our Arsenal vs Manchester United betting tips below:
Arsenal to win and under 4.5.goals
Arsenal defeated Manchester United 2-0 the last time the two teams met at the Emirates.
In recent weeks, the Gunners have found goals hard to come by. They’ve scored only five goals in their last four matches in all competitions, with just one coming in their last two outings.

United can’t keep clean sheets. They have conceded in their previous nine matches in all competitions. Everton were the last team to fail to breach the United backline, and they have struggled for goals against all comers.
We say United is too inconsistent to risk backing to get a result. We have to go for the Gunners, and it looks set to be a low-scoring affair.

Arsenal to have over 6.5 corners
Arsenal had 11 corners against Newcastle on Tuesday. There were 12 in the match in total.
In their recent 2-0 win over Manchester United, the Gunners had 13 corners, scoring from two of them. United don’t look the most convincing at defending set pieces. But we expect them to be better prepared this time around, so we are not backing the Gunners to score from any when the teams meet.
Instead we are backing Arsenal to have over 6/5 corners against United. We do feel the Red Devils will be working extra hard to ensure they limit set pieces for the Gunners. But we can’t ignore odds of 11/10 for over 6.5 corners for Arteta’s team.
⚽ Arsenal to have over 6.5 corners at 11/10 with bet365 ⚽
Kai Havertz to score or assist
Kai Havertz missed a great chance to score against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night. It was his first match back after illness forced him to miss the win over Brentford and draw with Brighton.
As a result of his unscheduled rest, Havertz may well start a match he would probably have sat out under normal circumstances.
If he does play against United, Havertz may feel he owes his team after he failed to convert from six yards against Newcastle shortly after his team had gone 2-0 down.
Good players aren’t kept down for long. Havertz has 12 goals and three assists in all competitions for Arsenal this season. We are backing him to add to his tally of goal involvements against United.
