Andrew’s Ayr Gold Cup Meeting day one betting tips

Ayr is set to be buzzing with anticipation for the biggest flat meeting of the year, with the highlight being the prestigious Ayr Gold Cup.

Top trainers, jockeys, and sprinters will line up this Saturday in search of a historic win in the Ayr Gold Cup.

This week, I’ll dive into some of the main supporting races over the three days and also share my runner-by-runner betting guide for the Ayr Gold Cup.

So, buckle up as we build up towards the Ayr Gold Cup with today’s best horse racing betting tips.

Andrew’s Top Horse Racing Bets

Here are by three best bets for day one of the Ary Gold Cup meeting and the best online bookmakers to make your next bet a winning one.

  • Ayr 2:42 Frank The Spark
  • Ayr 3:12 Sugar Hill Bay
  • Ayr 3:42 Aviemore

Ayr 2:42 – Brandinghub For Signs & Graphics Handicap (Div I) (5f)

Frank The Spark should go close to making it three wins in a row today.

He’s been in the form of his life, and despite the narrow winning margin last time out, he was never in any real trouble.

A 4lb rise in the weights awaits him here, but that shouldn’t be enough to stop this in-form gelding from going close to landing the hat-trick.

Scoops Ahoy was an unlucky 5th at Beverley last time out, and if he can break well today, he could run a big race.

  • Selection: Frank The Spark
  • Danger: Scoops Ahoy
  • Current Betting: N/A

Ayr 3:12 – Brandinghub For Signs & Graphics Handicap (Div II) (5f)

Division II of the 5f sprint handicap looks to follow a similar pattern to Division I, with the top weight likely being the one to beat.

Eternal Sunshine (1st) edged out SUGAR HILL BAY (3rd) by a head when they met at Musselburgh. Since then, Eternal Sunshine has maintained top form, most recently finishing 2nd just four days ago. However, the 2lb swing in the weights might not seem significant, but it could be enough to reverse the result in favour of Sugar Hill Bay.

Call Me Ginger has dropped considerably in the weights and has shown signs that a return to form may not be far off. If he can regain his old spark, he could very well fight for a place.

  • Selection: Sugar Hill Bay
  • Danger: Call Me Ginger
  • Current Betting: N/A

Ayr 3:42 – Livescore Bet Kilkerran Handicap (1m2f)

An open-looking contest here, but the one who makes the most appeal is last-time-out Chester scorer, AVIEMORE.

This horse’s only poor run came on debut back in May, but since then, he has recorded three second-place finishes and two wins on both good and heavy ground from 7 runs.

The rise in the weights is justified, but this improving son of Kodiac should be more than capable of handling it, even with the step up in grade. He can put up a bold bid from the front.

Financer was never in the race last time out at York, but he has shown in the past that he is capable of holding his own at a slightly lower level. If he can get away better and settle, a big run is not out of the question.

  • Selection: Amiemore
  • Danger: Financer
  • Current Betting: N/A
