Andrew’s best Saturday horse racing betting tips for Sandown (December 7)

Andrew’s best Saturday horse racing betting tips for Sandown (December 7)

Today is when we should learn a lot going forward, especially from Navan.

The Yellow Clay, Good Land, Waterford Whispers, Ile Atlantique, Irish National winner Intense Raffles, and Champion Bumper winner Jasmin De Vaux all appear at Navan today.

I will be monitoring the fallout from Navan closely, but I will concentrate on the Tingle Creek card at Sandown here.

As well as my best horse racing bets, you can get the best online horse racing bookmaker to place your next winning bet.

Best bets for Saturday’s horse racing

  • Sandown 1:50 – L’Eau Du Sud 1/1
  • Sandown 2:25 – Altobelli 5/1 (each way)
  • Sandown 3:00 – Quilixiox 13/2 (each way)

Sandown 1:50 – Grade 1 Betfair Henry VIII Novices’ Chase (2m)

With both Gordon Elliot runners declared, this has the makings of a top-class novice’s chase, but it’s still hard to get away from L’EAU DU SUD.

He has been spectacular in both his chase starts, particularly when taking apart the field in the Arkle Trial at Cheltenham last month.

There should be a sold gallop on, with Touch Me Not likely to set the pace. That should set up L’eau du Sud to take it up after the last and win going away.

I rarely take to a Skelton horse, but this one could be special.

  • Current Betting: L’Eau du Sud 1/1, Down Memory Lane 11/4, Rubaud 7/1, Touch Me Not 7/1, Soul Icon 33/1

Sandown 2:25 – Betfair Plays Different Handicap Hurdle (2m)

Having been sent off 10/3, 18/5, and 5/1 in all three starts last season in top handicaps, it’s fair if you came away slightly disappointed with ALTOBELLI.

He’s down to 130 today, which is two pounds lower than when he was just over one length behind Luccia at Ascot last December.

Harry Fry has not had any runners in the past two weeks, so it is hard to gauge what kind of form his stable is in. But if Altobelli is ready after a summer of strengthening, there is every reason to believe that he can get back to winning ways today on what looks like a very workable mark.

  • Current Betting: Kabral Du Mathan 7/2, Willmount 4/1, Altobelli 5/1, Knikerbockerglory 8/1, Nemean Lion 17/2, 16/1 bar.

Sandown 3:00 – Grade 1 Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (2m)

All being well, this should go to Jonbon, but he wasn’t at his best last time out, and the same can be said when winning this last season.

QUILIXIOS, the former Triumph Hurdle winner, put in a career-best front-running performance when seeing off Marine Nationale by over seven lengths at Naas.

He will set out in front, and if he can get into his normal jumping rhythm, he can get these on the stretch a long way out.

If Jonbon is not at his best today, Quilixios will be in a prime position to take full advantage.

With the eight declared runners, Quilixios is an each-way bet to nothing here.

  • Current Betting: Jonbon 4/7, Quilixios 13/2, Edwardstone 17/2, JPR One 14/1, Boothill 14/1, Master Chewy 20/1, Solness 33/1, Unexpected Party 80/1.
