The most iconic race in Formula One returns on Sunday as all eyes descend on the streets of Monte Carlo for the legendary Monaco Grand Prix.
Having won in two of the last three years at Monaco, it is little surprise to see Red Bull ace Max Verstappen as the heavy favourite to take the chequered flag once again this weekend.
However, there’s value to be had looking at alternative markets ahead of the big race, with strong performances possible from the likes of McLaren and Aston Martin.

Norris can push Verstappen once again
Having claimed his first ever F1 race win at the Miami Grand Prix at the start of this month, Lando Norris backed it up with an impressive second at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix last weekend.
The McLaren driver has been showing consistency throughout the season and currently finds himself in fourth place in the Drivers’ Championship standings, with just six points between himself and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez.
With confidence growing and pace being shown in qualification sessions, Norris should be pushing Verstappen for the victory again this weekend in Monte Carlo.
While the Bristolian might fall short in overcoming the Dutchman to take the win, the 24-year-old is good value at 9/4 to finish in second place on the podium on Sunday.
Alonso can respond in Monte Carlo
After a weekend to forget at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix last weekend, we should see more from the two-time world champion Fernando Alonso in Monte Carlo.
Aston Martin upgraded their AMR24 car ahead of the last meeting at Imola but a crash for Alonso in final practice ahead of the race was a major set-back for him and the team.
The race itself was more like a test drive for Alonso, who started from the pit, and the hope will be that he and the rest of the team have learned from that experience.
Alonso impressed on the streets of Monte Carlo last year in his Aston Martin, finishing the race in second place behind Verstappen.
While it would take something truly special to land a podium finish on Sunday, an improved performance from the Aston Martin team could see Alonso feature in the top six.
Alonso has won the Monaco Grand Prix twice in his career, back in 2006 and 2007, and the Spaniard knows what it takes to challenge at the front end of the grid in this high-profile race.
Having claimed that second spot in 2023, the 42-year-old is well priced at 6/5 to finish in the top six on Sunday afternoon and put the disappointment of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend firmly behind him.
