Best Russell Group unis for grad jobs in 2024, according to Times Higher Education

No need to do a panic Master’s after all!

The good news is that if you go to a fancy Russell Group uni in the UK, you’re probably already likelier to land a high-paying grad job than the rest of UK students. The extra prestige and bragging rights from Russell Group unis are the main reasons people still bother to go there. The bad news is that not every Russell Group uni is so great at finding you a top grad job.

Times Higher Education teamed up with the HR consultancy Emerging to make a brand new Global Employability University Ranking. They used feedback from employers to make a ranking of the top 250 unis in the world for employability. Here’s a helpful rundown of all the UK’s Russell Group unis which made the list, and exactly where they came in the ranking.

Two non-Russell Group UK unis did make it onto the Global Employability University Ranking this year – the London Business School came 39th, and the University of St Andrews came 142nd.

The University of Cambridge is officially the most employable uni in the UK. Top companies told Times Higher Education they really love Cambridge students. This is great news for Cambridge students’ self-esteem, because they finally beat Oxford in a university ranking this year.

At least somebody wants to be around Cambridge students!

The first number is how the uni ranked out of all the Russell Group unis. The second number is how the uni ranked overall in the Global Employability University Ranking. I haven’t just forgotten how to count.
