As one of the nominees, Kathy will now go through a public vote alongside a number of others like herself.

“This recognition inspires me to continue to provide support for this often marginalised group of motivated and hard-working entrepreneurs,” she said.

Kathy has shared her top tips to help small businesses grow – they are:

– A successful business is creating a balance between the ‘Five Ps’.

* People – your customers.

* Products – what you sell.

* Prices – charging the right amount, not just what you think you can charge.

* Productivity – getting everything done, not just the things you like to do.

* Promotion – marketing to the right people in the right places.

– You can’t do everything yourself, you have to know what you can do and what you can’t – then get help.

“I always say to my clients ‘do what you do best and outsource the rest,’” she added.

Those wanting to support Kathy can vote for her here.
