Cardinals vs Rams Predictions, Picks & Player Props (Week 17)

  • The Los Angeles Rams can seal a playoff spot when it hosts the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17 Dec. 28 in the last game of an NFL Saturday tripleheader.
  • LA has won five of the last seven meetings between these two franchises and is a touchdown favorite at just about all our favorite sportsbooks.

The division-leading Los Angeles Rams (9-6, 8-7 ATS) take a four-game win streak into Saturday’s contest against NFC West rival Arizona (7-8, 9-6 ATS).

LA is 6.5-point favorites at most sportsbooks, but seven-point favorites at BetMGM. Five of the last six meetings have been decided by 10 points or more.

For the Rams, the playoff scenario is kind of complicated. If they win, they almost…almost guarantee a playoff spot. They need a few other teams to win in Week 17 to gain the strength of victory tiebreaker (no, we didn’t make that up) over the Seahawks.

Here’s our Rams vs Cardinals prediction, along with the best betting lines and prop bets.

Arizona was on top of the NFC West just a month ago but have hit the skids, losing four of their last five, including a loss to Carolina last week in overtime (that can’t happen).

It’s not one thing hurting the Cardinals, it’s been a bunch of little things. Kyler Murray has thrown five picks in the last four games and the defense hasn’t been able to make stops.

For the Rams, it’s the second year in a row they’ve hit a higher gear in December. Statistically, LA isn’t that impressive. The offense ranks 15th in yards, defense 24th in yards allowed, but the core of their Super Bowl team a few years ago remains.

Matthew Stafford isn’t as good as he once was, but he’s got this offense down cold. Kyren Williams has given the Rams a running game, and the Rams play horizontal football better than anyone, getting the ball out quick to their fast receivers.

Puka Nacua (LA) 7.5 (O +110 | U -145) 85.5 (O -115 | U -115) 25.5 (O -115 | U -115)
Trey McBride (AZ) 6.5 (O -120 | U -110) 65.5 (O -130 | U +100) 20.5 (O -115 | U -115)

A couple of things to keep in mind when you look this over. Williams was held to a season-low 25 yards back in the Week 2 loss to the Cardinals, but he’s had at least 15 carries in every game this season except for that one. In the last three games, he’s had well over 20.

Nacua has had over 50 yards receiving in the last seven games. Kupp’s production has dropped off the last few weeks. He has just 19 catches in his last five.

For the Cardinals, let’s talk wide receivers. Marvin Harrison Jr. remains the Cardinals’ big play threat, but the real playmaker in the Cardinals’ passing game is tight end Trey McBride. He’s Murray’s security blanket and is good for 7-10 grabs a game.

Best Rams vs Cardinals Odds

Teams Spread Moneyline Total
Arizona Cardinals +6.5 (-108) at DraftKings +250 at Caesars O 47.5 (-110) at BetMGM
Los Angeles Rams -7.0 (-105) at BetMGM -295 at FanDuel U 47.5 (-108) at DraftKings

Arizona is just 2-3 in its last five games against the number. The Rams have won four straight against the spread. The 47.5 total seems low to us. The last three Arizona games have hit the over. Arizona is 7-7-1 over/under, while the Rams are 7-8 on the total.

Arizona handed the Rams their worst loss of the season, 41-10, back in Week 2, so the Rams have revenge on their mind. We like the Rams to win big, plus the last five times the Rams have beaten the Cardinals, they’ve covered the spread. That’s a great thing to ride.
