Despite the chaos of domestic club football now coming to an end across most of the world’s best leagues, football fans have a fantastic summer to look forward to with both the 2024 European Championships and 2024 Copa America being held across June and July.
Across both tournaments, the best players in the world will grace the pitch in the hope that they can return international glory back to their countries.
With almost 100 games taking place across both tournaments, the action on the pitch is set to be dramatic, whilst, off it, the crypto betting industry is preparing itself for an influx of activity with millions of bets set to be placed.
Alongside the 2024 Olympics Games, the Euros and Copa America are the marquee events of summer. Broadcast in front of millions, bettors from far and wide will want to get in on the action and this summer many will be using a huge array of crypto betting sites to fulfill their betting needs.
Despite there being some doubts in certain industries regarding the strength and future of cryptocurrencies, one sector where cryptocurrencies are flourishing is the gambling industry. Below, we take a quick look at some of the reasons why the crypto betting landscape is currently soaring.
The world of Cryptocurrency gambling continues to rise
As a new generation of tech-savvy bettors has entered the betting industry, it is estimated that 65% of all new bettors are opting to place their bets at crypto sites rather than using traditional powerhouse sites such as DraftKings, FanDuel, and Bet365. 60% of all crypto transactions that take place around the world are spent on crypto betting.
Lured in by the possibilities of using multiple currencies, partaking in secure transactions, and being able to make deposits and withdrawals at lightning speeds, it’s easy to see why crypto betting markets are enjoying a rapid rise.
With the crypto gambling industry now set to be worth $2.5 billion, the volume of bets has dramatically risen year on year and it is predicted that by the end of 2024, 10 billion crypto bets will have been placed.
One of the drivers behind that sheer volume of crypto bets increasing is football.
Football betting equates to 70% of all sports bets that are placed and due to the popularity and coverage of both the Euros and Copa America, these two tournaments will heavily dominate the betting landscape this summer.
Whereas traditional betting sites could usually guarantee great odds and a huge variety of different betting outcomes, all of these advantages can now be enjoyed at crypto betting sites the world over. Combine this with the many different benefits that betting via a crypto site can bring, never before has betting on a beautiful game via cryptocurrencies looked so appealing.
Here are just a few of the key reasons why many will turn to crypto betting ahead of this superb summer of football.
Crypto welcome offers usually exceed the value offered by traditional betting sites
With the crypto gambling industry booming, there is no surprise that when it comes to choosing where you want to gamble, crypto bettors are spoilt for choice.
Just like with traditional betting sites, crypto gambling sites offer new customers some fantastic welcome offers to take advantage of. Usually taking the form of free bets or matched deposits, the values offered by the very best crypto markets often far exceed what even the biggest traditional sportsbooks can offer.
Welcome offers can be perfect for both new and seasoned football bettors and you can be assured that thousands will be snapping up these offers before the Euros and Copa America kick off.
Crypto football betting markets are deep
For long periods, the one edge that sportsbooks enjoyed over their crypto rivals was the competitive odds and sheer volume of markets that were available to be bet on. Fast forward to the present day and that edge has been greatly diminished.
Crypto football bettors no longer need to be restricted in the types of bets they can place. Bets can be made on markets such as who will score the first goal, the total number of corners and cards, the correct scoreline, as well as who will win the game or tournament outright.
Other bet types such as accumulators and other multiples can all be placed with ease. With the odds across crypto football markets offering similar value to the mainstream betting establishment, it’s not surprising that with the other benefits that crypto betting brings, the industry is continuing to surge.
In-play betting can also be enjoyed – other popular betting features are also available
Other standout features that have made football betting so popular such as the ability to place in-play bets, the ability to cash out, and ‘build a bet’ facilities can now all be enjoyed at the majority of crypto betting sites.
Whilst it can’t be argued that these betting methods have changed the way that football betting can be enjoyed, crypto football bettors now no longer need to miss out and can bet on the game in a whole variety of different ways.
Ensuring that the very best and modern betting technologies are in place are just another reason as to why football betting and crypto betting sites are seen as the perfect combination.
What about the tournaments itself – who has a chance of winning?
One of the main reasons as to why there is so much excitement behind both the Euros and Copa America this summer is that both tournaments are wide open.
Euro 2024
Euro 2024 will take place in Germany and due to the rich football heritage that the hosts enjoy and the superb infrastructure, every game that takes place will be played amidst a superb setting and in front of hugely passionate fan bases.
Whilst Germany can never be discounted from any international football tournament, for months the bookies favourites have been England.
Boasting a front line that is the envy of the world, the English public is desperate for their team to finally win their first men’s international tournament since 1966. Whilst their quality can’t be denied, there are several question marks over their defense, and having experienced a chequered build-up, Gareth Southgate’s men certainly won’t have things their own way. However, any other outcome other than total victory would have to be considered as a major disappointment for this talented squad.
The other team that has dominated the pre-tournament betting has been France. Heading into the tournament as World Cup runners-up, Kylian Mbappe seems to save his best for the biggest stage and in his first tournament as his country’s captain he will have serious hopes of winning the countries first European title since 2000.
Other teams that will look to have a big tournament are Portugal, Spain, Belgium, and Holland.
With the latter stages of the tournament promising to be special, there is every chance that this summer’s tournament could live long in the memory for years to come.
Copa America
Argentina will head into the 2024 Copa America as the favorites to defend their title. The most successful side in Copa America history, they head to the USA as the current World Cup Champions and it could be argued that no other country in world football knows how to win games on the biggest stage than Argentina.
For this summer’s tournament, Lionel Scaloni will still rely on several members of his old guard. Whilst being firmly in the twilight of their careers, Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, and Nicolas Otamendi still make up the spine of the team and they simply know how to get the job done.
Standing in Argentina’s way will be their old rivals Brazil. Without Neymar, much of the spotlight will fall on Vinicius Jr, who despite lighting it up for Real Madrid has still yet to prove that he can turn it on for his country when it really matters.
This summer will also provide Endrick with a first opportunity to show what he can do on the international stage and the new Real Madrid man will hope to show the watching world why he is so highly regarded.
Uruguay will head into the tournament in flying form. Marcelo Bielsa seems to have been able to get his ideas across and with Uruguay boasting a tremendous record in the tournament nobody will want to face them when the tournament reaches the business end.
Other teams to keep an eye on are Colombia and the hosts, the USA.
