Eagles vs. Cowboys odds, best bets: Best ATS picks for Philly-Dallas

With the Cowboys at 3-5 and now without QB Dak Prescott for several weeks, Sunday’s NFC East battle between the 6-2 Eagles and ‘Boys has lost most of its luster.

Still, this is a massive game, as Philadelphia enters Week 10 a half-game behind 7-2 Washington atop the division.

It’s an interesting one for Dallas as well, even amid a spiraling season, as Mike McCarthy’s Cowboys appear well on their way to their first season without a playoff berth since 2020.

Eagles vs. Cowboys kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.

Eagles vs. Cowboys Betting Preview, Analysis

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

After a disappointing 2-2 start, the Eagles’ bye week this year came at a good time. Philadelphia enters Week 10 on a four-game winning streak, with wins over the Browns, Giants, Bengals and Jags since the Week 4 bye.

RB Saquon Barkley is having an All-Pro season after joining the Eagles from division rival New York, and as long as this offense is healthy, it looks like one of the best in the league through eight weeks.

We’ll learn much more about Philadelphia from Weeks 11-13, when it takes on the Commanders, Ravens and Rams, but this team has shown over the last month that it can handle weak opponents (the Browns, Giants, Bengals and Jags are a combined 10-27).

Despite the Cowboys’ high preseason expectations, Philadelphia’s opponent on Sunday falls into that category. Injuries been a factor, but Dallas also just hasn’t resembled the team that won 12 games in each of the last three regular seasons, as this is an offense without much talent outside of Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview

The Cowboys started the year with a road win over Cleveland, but the run defense has been a glaring weakness, and as injuries have taken their toll elsewhere, Dallas has stumbled to a 3-5 record that includes a couple ugly losses.

After a blowout loss to the Saints in Week 2, Dallas fell into a massive hole against Baltimore in Week 3. Prescott and Co. rallied to make that one close in the fourth quarter, but the inability of the Dallas D to stop Derrick Heny dropped them to 1-2.

The Cowboys showed signs of life by beating the Giants and Steelers to improve to 3-2. Neither the offense nor the defense played well over the last three weeks, though, as Dallas was blown out by Detroit in Week and came out of its Week 7 bye with losses to San Francisco and Atlanta.

Now, with Prescott indefinitely sidelined for an offense that has not been able to get anyone other than star Lamb going, this team’s outlook the rest of the way is bleak.

In fact, Dallas’s current odds to make the playoffs are +1100 at DraftKings. Of this team’s final nine games, there’s a good chance it will only be favored in two of them (at home vs. the Giants on Thanksgiving Day and at the Panthers on Dec. 15).

Eagles vs. Cowboys Prediction

Backup Cowboys QB Cooper Rush played well the last time we saw him, but this year’s supporting cast is not what it was for Rush back in 2022, when he went 4-1 in relief of Prescott.

Dallas could, however, get a massive boost on defense from the return of star DE Micah Parsons, who has not played since his team’s Week 4 win over the Giants, but that won’t solve all that is ailing this defense.

On paper, the Eagles should win this one by multiple touchdowns, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that Dallas will keep this one close. One reason is the recent history between these teams, with Dallas at 5-2 in its last seven games against Philadelphia, including 2-2 in the last four meetings.

We like Philadelphia to win this one by about a touchdown, but we’re not quite confident enough that this will go according to plan to lay seven points with the road favorites.

Eagles vs. Cowboys Best ATS Bets

The Eagles got off to a strong start last Sunday and looked like they would blow out the Jaguars after beating both the Giants and Bengals by at least 20 points, but ended up letting Jacksonville get back into that game, winning by a final score of 28-23.

A similar outcome in this one wouldn’t shock us, so let’s go with a low-scoring first half as our best bet in a division rivalry game where we recommend proceeding with caution, if not staying away.
