England will fine-tune their Euro 2024 preparations with a pre-tournament friendly against Bosnia on Monday evening at St James’ Park.

After enduring heartbreak at Euro 2020 with a defeat against Italy in the final via a penalty shoot-out, Gareth Southgate will be hoping his troops can go one step further this time in Germany.

Expect there to be a major shake-up to the starting XI, as Harry Kane is likely to be encased in bubble wrap, while Jude Bellingham won’t feature after his Champions League Final involvement with Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire are expected to miss out as they battle to overcome their respective injury problems.

Bosnia, meanwhile, will be watching Euro 2024 from afar, but it will be interesting to see how they fare, and they also have an upcoming friendly against Italy.

Bosnia could well be limited opposition, and they have lost their past four matches on the trot, and in their last two qualifying games, they shipped nine goals against Portugal and Luxembourg respectively.

This will be the first time England will be facing Bosnia in an international fixture at senior level, but the visitors could be easy fodder.

After a mesmerising individual campaign with Chelsea, Cole Palmer will be raring to go with England.

22 Premier League goals earned him the Premier League Young Player of the Year gong, and while competition will be fierce along with Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden, Palmer can produce some spectacular things.

His left foot is a wand, and he will be hoping to put forward a serious case to start for the Three Lions when the Euros roll around.

This could be a very important audition for Palmer, and he could well grab the opportunity with both hands.
