Gunners will go full throttle – Eidevallpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 9 October
Bayern Munich v Arsenal (17:45)
Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall says his side will go “full throttle” in the Women’s Champions League when they begin their campaign on Wednesday.
The fixture is Arsenal’s first of four in the space of 12 days, with games against Chelsea, Valerenga and West Ham to follow in quick succession.
When asked where the European competition ranks in his priorities, Eidevall said: “For me, the Champions League is very special. We are in four competitions, but the Champions League and the league will always be very special to me and to the team.
“Right now we are in a situation where we need to go full throttle in both of them.”
Arsenal are back in the group stages of the competition after missing out on qualification last season, while Bayern Munich failed to make it out of the group in 2023-24.
The sides last met in the competition in 2023 when the Gunners turned around their first-leg defeat to reach the semi-finals.
