How to bet Caitlin Clark’s WNBA regular season props

The 2024 WNBA campaign tips off this evening. The New York Liberty and Washington Mystics get the season started at 6 p.m. CT. However, odds are the story everybody is waiting to hear centers around the league’s freshest face and new phenom, the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark.

Clark is expected to boost the WNBA’s ratings exponentially, similar to her impact on women’s college basketball. This will undoubtedly lead to a higher volume of WNBA bets flowing into sportsbooks throughout the United States. Let’s talk about how to bet on Caitlin Clark’s 2024 regular-season player props.

How to bet Caitlin Clark’s props ahead of the WNBA season

FanDuel Sportsbook has its own WNBA tab dedicated to Clark’s props for the year. Here are all of the bets you can place before the season begins:

  • Clark to lead Indiana Fever in scoring in the regular season (-380)
  • Clark’s first basket to be a three-pointer in the regular season (-190)
  • Clark to average 22+ points per game in the regular season (-160)
  • Clark to record 130+ made threes in the regular season (-125)
  • Clark to record 3+ triple-doubles in the regular season (+190)
  • Clark to record 1+ made three in every regular season game (+100)
  • Clark to record 10+ made threes in any regular season game (+500)
  • Clark to score 50+ points in any regular season game (+900)
  • Clark to break the WNBA single-game scoring record of 54+ points in any regular season game (+2100)

The first bet that offers a bit of value is “Clark to average 22 or more points per game.” She averaged 28.4 points per game at Iowa and her lowest season total in four years was 26.6 points as a freshman. While the WNBA is a different ball game, Clark will be a centerpiece in Indiana’s offense from the jump. It won’t take her long to acclimate to the league and when she gets settled, she’s lethal.

Another intriguing one is the triple-double prop. Clark was a sneaky triple-double machine during her time with the Hawkeyes with an elite clip her senior year. She was no Russell Westbrook, but she did manage 17 across four years and six as a senior guard. That’s trading at nearly 2/1, so it’s worth a flier.

The only other two plays I’d even consider relate to three-pointers.

Clark to hit one from beyond the arc in every regular season appearance at even money is incredible value. Clark played 139 games throughout her collegiate career and only failed to make a deep ball once when she went 0-for-6 against Purdue in January 2022. However, she never reached the double-digit mark.

Clark drained nine three-pointers in a game three times during her senior season, although the illustrious 10+ threes in a single game eluded her throughout her four years in Iowa. It’s unlikely she’ll hit 10+ during her rookie season — hence the +500 odds — it is enough to intrigue and excite though.

The one prop I’d recommend staying away from regardless of value is any involving Clark scoring 50+ points. In addition to the 22-year-old never eclipsing the 50-point mark in college, there have only ever been three players to do so in the WNBA. A’ja Wilson (53), Liz Cambage (53) and Riquna Williams (51) stand alone as the only individuals to reach this mark in league history.

Clark may be an elite scorer but the odds are quite literally against her there.

As for the season opener, the Fever start on the road at the Connecticut Sun. The visitors are 6-point underdogs with Clark’s O/U set at 21.5 points. The under is juiced to -130 and you can bet her over at even money.

Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT from Mohegan Sun Arena in Montville, Connecticut. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN2 and streamed live on ESPN+.
