Ipswich vs Manchester United predictions
Ipswich will be looking to build on their 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in their final match before the November international break.
The victory was Town’s first in the Premier League and saw them climb out of the bottom three at the expense of Crystal Palace.
The win also means the Tractor Boys are two matches unbeaten as they took a point from Leicester City in their previous fixture.
Life has been tough in the top flight for Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna and his team. They have only picked up 8 points from 11 matches, scoring 12 goals and conceding 22.
But McKenna has done a good job. Over a quarter of the season is gone, and the Tractor Boys haven’t been cut adrift.
That is a major positive.
Furthermore, the win over Spurs will give them confidence as they head into the winter months – Town now know they can beat the top teams in the Premier League.
Manchester United are about to start Premier League life under new manager Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese will inherit a team that is 13th in the table. United have 15 points from 11 matches, having scored just 12 goals in the league this season (three were in their previous match against Leicester).
Amorim will also inherit a team with one of the best defences in the top flight. United have conceded 12 times. Only Liverpool (6), Nottingham Forest (10), and Newcastle (11) have let in fewer goals.
But Amorim isn’t here to sort out the defence. He is here to turn United into a force again. Not only that, his remit will include giving the team an identity and playing style.
If early reports are to be believed, this probably won’t happen overnight, as Amorim has reportedly been stunned with the lack of speed and intensity in training sessions at Carrington.
And herein lies the problem from a betting perspective.
Amorim won’t gradually try to introduce his playing style on the team. A poor start to the season has given him licence to immediately implement his system, and if it suffers teething problems, he will have a honeymoon period to sort things out.
This makes backing United tricky, as they could be unpredictable to start with.
Will the fixture against Ipswich see an immediate improvement? Or will there be teething problems as players get to grips with their new roles?
We won’t find out until the match kicks off. And all football fans will be watching with interest to see if Amorim can get a tune out of this expensively assembled group of players.
Ipswich vs Manchester United betting tips
The international break came at the worst possible time for Ipswich Town. Having just taken four points from two matches, the Tractor Boys had finally got some momentum going in their Premier League campaign.
They will now have to start all over again against a Manchester United side who will be keen to impress their new boss, Ruben Amorim.
United’s new manager has only had a limited time to work with his players and it remains to be seen if his squad will be ready and able to adapt to his playing style. This could hand the hosts a chance to get something out of the match.
Despite this, we can still see an away win. Our Ipswich vs Manchester United betting tips can be found below:
Both teams to score and Man Utd to win
A win in 90 minutes for Manchester United is very short at 6/10.
A win for the Red Devils with both teams to score is much better odds at 9/5.
I know what you are thinking, Man Utd don’t concede many. And that’s true, they only conceded 12 in 12 in the Premier League under Ten Hag.

But life under the Dutchman was different. There is little to no chance that new manager Ruben Amorim will send his team out to play like Ten Hag did against Villa a few weeks ago. Repeats of that 0-0 draw are now a thing of the past.
Ipswich will be confident. They have just beaten Spurs. We can see them scoring against a more attack-minded United, but we can also see the Red Devils scoring more.
⚽ Back a win for United and both teams to score at 9/5 with Paddy Power ⚽
Rasmus Hojlund to score anytime
We’ve all seen how Rasmus Hojlund has struggled for touches in the box. But we have also seen glimpses of how he can break with pace and is a danger when he has open ground ahead of him to run into.
Sometimes a new manager comes in and totally transforms a player. Hojlund looks like the type of player who will benefit from a manager like Ruben Amorim.
United’s attacking style will suit the Dane. He looks set to get the nod to lead the line against Ipswich. And it will come as no surprise to see him start life under Amorim with a goal against an Ipswich side that has already conceded 22 times in the Premier League.
⚽ Back Rasmus Hojlund to score anytime at 13/10 with Paddy Power ⚽
Liam Delap to score anytime
The negative is Ipswich has scored 12 goals this season. Only Southampton, Crystal Palace and Everton have scored less. The positive is that Town have scored in eight of their 11 Premier League games.
Scoring in most matches is a plus point. It gives them a chance of taking something out of the match without having to rely on an unlikely clean sheet (they have conceded in ten of their 11 matches).
Out of their 12 goals, Liam Delap has scored six – making him one of only three players to have scored half his team’s goals in the Premier League this season.
Delap is also a former Manchester City player. He joined the Tractor Boys from the Etihad in the summer and would no doubt love to put one over on his old cross town rivals.
⚽ Back Liam Delap to score anytime against Manchester United at 3/1 with Paddy Power ⚽
