Approaching Wednesday’s affair, the hosts have enjoyed three days off since defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins at home 4-2 on Saturday night. After dropping the season opener to their historic foes, the Maple Leafs have now reeled off wins in consecutive games.

The Los Angeles Kings afternoon date against the Ottawa Senators turned out to be a barnburner. The Kings lost 8-7 in overtime in a game where they were garnering a perfect penalty kill percentage before they conceded three in their second consecutive overtime loss.

Los Angeles Kings at Toronto Maple Leafs predictions

After his Maple Leafs debut behind the bench, head coach Craig Berube’s new system is slowly building up his influence on how he wants his troops to compete. After the Leafs were shutout for the first time in 252 games, Berube’s men have amassed eight goals in their last two games.

Bought in to help carry the load between the pipes, Anthony Stolarz has pleasantly taken over the starting gig for now due to Joesph Woll’s injury. In two starts, the 30-year-old netminder currently possesses a .940 save percentage with a 1.54 GAA.

Finally over the weekend members of Toronto’s “core four” got on that stat sheet. William Nylander secured his first two goals of the season while Mitch Marner nabbed a goal and an assist on Saturday night.

The young blue liner who was picked eighth overall in 2021, Brandt Clarke had a career outing in their mishap against Ottawa collecting three assists. With 28 career NHL games under his belt, Clarke has two goals and nine assists to his account.

Aging like a fine wine, Anze Kopitar had himself a helpful afternoon procuring three assists in the Kings OT defeat. The captain logged just over 20 minutes of ice time and went 10-for-21 in the face-off dot.

Los Angeles Kings at Toronto Maple Leafs betting tips

The Maple Leafs have had success taking on their Western Conference advisories, in their last 13 games, Toronto has been victorious in 12 instances. Head-to-head in their last 10 matchups against the Kings, the Leafs have secured six wins.

Despite the Kings proving last season that playing on the road didn’t impair their abilities to perform on the ice, think on Wednesday they’re in a tough spot. When the books made the Maple Leafs the implied moneyline favorites, they delivered as last year the Leafs assembled 38 wins in 64 occurrences.

A scary situation the opposition will face is that last year’s Rocket Richard winner has yet to hit the back of the net through three games. It’s not a matter of if, it’s when will Auston Matthews start to get back to his goal-scoring ways and start lighting the lamp.

The Leafs captain has amassed 368 career goals in 565 appearances repping the Blue and White. Think on Wednesday evening we will get a fired-up and well-rested squad and see the Leafs dominant trend continue over Western Conference clubs.
