Loterj reopens accreditation period for another 60 days for sports betting and iGaming – Games Magazine Brasil

The goal of the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery is to attract even more companies to the regulated market and ensure increased revenue, both from the grant itself, of R$5.2 million (US$ 922m), and from the tax associated with the operation, which was set at 5% on the GGR.

The previous deadline ended on August 13, one week before betting houses also submitted their license requests to the Prizes and Betting Secretariat (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance to operate throughout Brazil.

In the federal case, 113 license requests were submitted, while the previous Loterj accreditation process included the submission of accreditation requests from approximately 20 companies. For strategic reasons, Loterj did not disclose the exact number of companies that were evaluated by the agency.

With the new reopening, Loterj continues with its project to become the main Brazilian state lottery and keeps accreditation open for sports betting and online gaming companies to register in Rio de Janeiro until the beginning of November.

Apostou.com, Bestbet, MarjoSports, RioJogos and Pixbet are already operating in the state.

Other Brazilian, European and North American companies are still in the process of accreditation and undergoing technical analyses and Proof of Concept (PoC), including Caesars Sportsbook, Key Solution Gaming of Bet, Laguna, PNR, Purple & Green and SDL Loterias. The names of the others, which presented themselves in the last accreditation window, have not yet been disclosed.
