2016/17 Europa League champions Manchester United kick-start their European adventure against FC Twente on Wednesday.
The Red Devils will be the first of the English contingent to sample the new Europa League format.
However, the assignment remains the same – win.
Erik ten Hag’s side were unable to do that over the weekend when playing out a frustrating goalless draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Ten Hag said his side “ate Crystal Palace alive” as they missed a number of big chances following big wins over Southampton and Barnsley.
United had 66% possession, 15 shots and an xG of 1.86 but still weren’t able to get on the scoresheet.
He’ll hope to rectify that against Twente, who finished third in the Eredivisie last season, ahead of both AZ Alkmaar and Ajax.
Under new manager Joseph Oosting, Twente have made a decent enough start to the season having collected 11 points from a possible 18.
And they arrive in Manchester off the back of a morale-boosting 5-0 win over Almere City, although they are second bottom of the Eredivisie and have shipped 17 goals.

The Portuguese international, 30, has had 17 attempts on goals in Manchester United’s five league matches this season – that’s more than double any of his colleagues.
