Nashville Predators at Winnipeg Jets predictions
Ryan O’Reilly had a monster performance on Saturday, registering a hat-trick against the Flames in just under 17 minutes of work. Through 37 games this year, the 33-year-old has acquired 12 goals and 25 points.
Filip Forsberg added two assists to his account on Saturday, giving him 33 points on the year. The Predators leading point-getter is four goals shy from hitting the 300-goal mark, as he is featuring in his 13th NHL season.
Nikolaj Ehlers snapped his three-game goalless run, scoring his 12th of the campaign in the Jets losing effort. The 28-year-old has amassed 490 points in 637 regular season games, all in a Winnipeg Jets sweater.
The NHL’s leader in wins and GAA, Conner Hellebuyck had a subpar performance in the blue paint on Saturday. The netminder stopped 25 of 28 shots he faced, now conceding seven goals in his last two starts.
The Jets’ leading scorer will look to light the lamp on Tuesday as Mark Scheifele has hit the back of the mesh in two of his last five outings. The 31-year-old has tallied 23 goals in 41 games this season. Facing Nashville for the third time this year, Scheifele has failed to pick up a point in his previous two meetings.
Nashville Predators at Winnipeg Jets tips
This could be a harsh spot for the Predators walking into Tuesday’s tilt, as Nashville has only been victorious once in their last six visits to Winnipeg. Nashville has had its fair share of struggles overall on the road this year as they have collected five wins in 22 away trips this season.
On the other hand, despite dropping their previous two home bouts, Winnipeg should bounce back. The Jets have yet to drop three straight home games so far and we feel on Tuesday Winnipeg halt their mini-home skid. Just a few weeks ago we saw Winnipeg defeat Nashville at home, we sense that we witness another similar result with the hosts handling their Central Division adversary once again.
