Changes to Belgium’s gambling law raising the legal age to play to 21 have come into force.
The Belgian Gaming Commission confirmed in March it was to bring in the key change with the aim of improving player protection.
Sports betting, arcades and bingo are now in line with age requirements at land-based casinos that came into force in 2018.
As well as raising the gambling age, certain gaming devices have now been outlawed and there are now restrictions on gifts, bonuses and free games, as well as the accumulation of online licences on the same website.
Belgium’s gaming industry has also been in the spotlight of late due to its advertising restrictions.
