Gabby Logan is now the evens favourite to be the next Match of the Day presenter
The next Match of the Day presenter slot is something that has been regularly discussed over recent years with Gary Lineker constantly flirting with stepping down from the role.
Jermaine Jenas has long been favourite to take over from Lineker with OLBG reporting back in March that he led the betting odds as the 2/1 favourite to present MOTD next.
Jenas though was dismissed by the BBC on Thursday due to complaints about workplace conduct and he is now obviously not on the cards to present the show.
Gabby Logan has moved into evens favourite to be the next MOTD presenter after impressing viewers during the BBC’s coverage of the Olympic Games earlier this summer.
Mark Chapman and Claire Balding also feature in the odds after their experience showed while hosting the Olympics and Chapman has hosted Match of the Day 2 on a regular basis too.
Chapman’s many commitments across a host of sports, including football and NFL, may well mean that he can’t commit to leading Match of the Day once Lineker leaves with his odds at 6/1.

What the expert says…
Gabby Logan is the evens favourite to be the next Match of the Day presenter after replacing Jermaine Jenas in the market following his sacking by the BBC on Thursday. That drama now sees Logan followed by Alex Scott to present the BBC’s flagship show with Final Score’s Jason Mohammed third favourite in the market.
