Having won their last two outings, the 7-5 Denver Broncos are growing in confidence ahead of Tuesday morning’s showdown with the Cleveland Browns at Empower Field at Mile High.

The Broncos have given themselves a great opportunity to reach the play-offs this season by overcoming both the Atlanta Falcons and the Las Vegas Raiders, especially with a kind schedule on the horizon.

Denver will have to be wary of Cleveland in this one, with charismatic quarterback Jameis Winston impressing in the snow to guide the Browns to a 24-19 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last time out.

However, the Browns have won just one game on the road all season and it’s hard to see them knocking the Broncos off their stride at Mile High.

Broncos to maintain play-off push

Boasting the third-best defence in the NFL this season, Denver have conceded just 16.8 points per game this term.

Against a Cleveland offence who have scored 18 or fewer points in nine of their last 11 games, it’s difficult to see the Browns causing an upset in Denver in this Week 13 showdown.

The Browns’ struggles on the road have been well documented and a 1-4 record does not make pretty reading for Cleveland fans going into their trip to Colorado.

This has tended to be a fixture in which the Broncos have had plenty of joy previously, with Denver winning seven of their last eight home games against the Browns.

Not only should Denver be able to keep up that winning record on their own patch on Tuesday but given their mean defence and the Browns’ struggles on offence, the Broncos should cover the spread in the process.

Sutton to help sink Cleveland

Offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. (knee), defensive end Sam Kamara (head) and safety Juan Thornhill (calf) will all be missed by the Browns on defence and that will play into the hands of quarterback Bo Nix and his offence.

Cold, dry conditions are expected at Mile High this coming week, so expect Nix to be able to add significant numbers to his 2,548 yards through the air already thrown this season.

One of the key weapons on the Broncos offence is wide receiver Courtland Sutton and the 29-year-old is certainly a player to look out for in the touchdown market.

The Texan has 744 receiving yards this season and has already bagged himself five touchdowns in the process.

Against a Cleveland secondary who have been simply conceding too many points, and who are beset by injuries to boot, Sutton should be able to make some big plays on Tuesday.

Nix has thrown 16 touchdown passes this season and Sutton might well be the beneficiary of another at Mile High to help inflict Cleveland’s fifth away defeat of the campaign.

Under 50.5 the way to go

Considering the struggles the Browns’ offence have had this season, it’s hard to see this game being a high-scoring shootout in Denver.

The Broncos have been averaging 22 points per game on offence and all signs suggest that going with under 50.5 total points offers value in this three-selection bet builder.
