The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) informed that, to date, a total of 67 brands have received authorization to exploit online games and sports betting in a regulated manner in such country.

According to the updated report of Authorization Holders, reviewed by Yogonet, the 67 authorized brands correspond to 64 companies.

The first to receive the authorization was the company Kaizen Gaming Peru, which registered the trademark Betano.pe on March 27. On the other hand, the last registered trademark was Jackpotcity.pe, registered by Baytree Interactive Limited on August 16.

In June, during an exclusive interview with Yogonet, the General Director of Casino Games and Slot Machines, Yuri Guerra, had indicated that, up until then, 80 companies had presented a total of 145 applications for operation, of which only 43 were authorized.

In this context, Guerra explained that the authorized companies had a term of 90 days to comply with all their adaptation processes, which consisted of standardizing their gaming platforms and programs. After that, an officially formal market would be established.

On the other hand, the Peruvian regulator announced at the time the creation of the Virtual Gaming Authorization Directorate, which would be in charge of iGaming licenses, composed of a director, legal advisors, financial specialists, and an administrative area.

At the same time, he specified that “the Control Directorate will remain as a single unit, both for the land-based and online sectors,” although increasing the number of inspectors and supervisors, and training them to audit iGaming companies.

Recently, the Mincetur informed that the Ibero-American Gaming Summit (CIJ) chose Lima as the venue for the ninth edition of this event, which will be held on May 27 and 28, 2025 under the theme ‘Innovation and Regulation: The Future of Gaming in Latam’.
