Everton boss Sean Dyche on how he feels about the Merseyside derby victory over Liverpool: “Obviously, very pleased, for a number of reasons.
“Firstly, the literal performance, which was very good. The tactical side of the game, which is always a wonder to a manager and coaches; have we got it right? Can we deliver it? And they did.
“Lot of respect for Liverpool for the things they are trying to achieve and the things they have done, but I though it was a good performance and we deserved to win.
“And then when you add in the fans in the stadium, which I though was terrific – and I thought was same against [Nottingham] Forest as well – and I thanked the fans for that, because the ugly performances, the ugly outcomes, we all took a bit of heat for that, but we held our hands up, stayed connected to the team; I thought that was on show against Forest and it was certainly on show against last night.
“It was a win on all levels, not just three points.”
