PSG vs Nantes predictions
PSG has won their last five in Ligue 1. They sit top of the table with 36 points from 12 matches. They currently hold a 6-point lead over second-placed Monaco.
Nantes sit third from bottom of the table with ten points from 12 matches. They are without a win in their last nine, and to make matters worse, they have lost their last four.
Starting with the hosts, and as is usually the case in Paris, things are going fine in the league, but not so good in Europe.
PSG are unbeaten in Ligue 1. They have clear daylight between themselves and the chasing pack.
There was a brief challenge from Marseille earlier in the season. But the Parisians did a number on their rivals from the south when they defeated the Olympians 3-0 in the Le Classique on October 27th.
But, there is trouble brewing for manager Luis Enrique based on PSG’s Champions League form.
On Tuesday his PSG team lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in Bavaria. The defeat was PSG’s third in the competition.
As a result, they now sit in 25th place, outside the playoff positions, on just four points from five matches. There is now a danger they won’t finish in the top 24.
The Parisians next match is away to RB Salzburg on December 10th. Lose that, and they really are in trouble.
Moving onto the visitors, and the last thing Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré needs at this stage of the season is a trip to the Parc des Princes.
Not only is his team facing the league leaders, but also a PSG team who will be hurting after another Champions League defeat in midweek.
FC Nantes began the season so well. They started with a 0-0 draw away to Toulouse, followed by a 2-0 home win over Auxerre and a 3-1 win on the road at Montpellier. Seven points from their opening three matches was more than a respectable start.
Since the win at the Stade de la Mosson against Montpellier on August 31st, it would be somewhat of an understatement to say things have gone downhill.
That was the last time Nantes managed a win. They are now nine matches without a victory, and the fans are starting to get restless.
Last Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Le Havre started with the fans greeting the players with a banner “From the management to the players, you are nothing but tourists… Welcome to Nantes Football Club Med”, suggesting their club is being treated as a holiday resort.
The mood didn’t improve after Le Havre took a third-minute lead. There was more trouble as the game was stopped twice. First for the toilet paper and tennis balls being thrown onto the pitch (that was more against the LFP, than the club) to be removed, and second when some fans tried to storm the playing area.
All-in-all, it was a sorry afternoon for the club.
On a positive note for Kombouaré, Saturday’s match with PSG is a free hit. His team won’t be expected to get anything from the match, so anything is a bonus. But if Les Canaris take a heavy beating, who knows what the future holds for the under fire manager.
PSG vs Nantes betting tips
Domestic football is a welcome distraction for PSG after their latest European misadventure. But for Nantes, their suffering seems to be increasing with every passing week.
PSG is just 2/11 to win in 90 minutes betting. We can’t see anything other than another win for the Parisians, and a thrashing for the out-of-form visitors.
For some alternative wagers, we have named more PSG vs Nantes betting tips below:
PSG (-1) to win 3 way handicap
Luis Enrique’s team has won six from six at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 this season.
Five of those matches were won by two goals or more. One was won by six, one by three, and three by a margin of two goals. Only Lens on Matchday 10 didn’t lose by two or more.

Nantes haven’t been getting beaten by much when they’ve lost. The biggest margins they’ve lost by in their poor run is two goals.
But they have been in awful form in recent weeks and it’s hard not to see PSG winning this fixture by at least a couple of goals.

Over 3.5 goals
Over 3.5 goals have been scored in four of PSG’s six home matches this season. The two matches that didn’t see four goals were PSG’s scratchy 1-0 win over Lens and their 3-0 win over Toulouse.
Both Lens and Toulouse are mid table teams that don’t score many and keep things tight at the back.
Believe it or not, Nantes have scored one goal more than both the above mentioned teams. Furthermore, the struggling Canaries have scored in seven of their nine matches without a win.
The problem is they have conceded 18 goals across the nine matches in question.
It’s more than possible PSG will win this 3-1 or 4-0 against a team down on its luck and with little confidence.

Bradley Barcola to score anytime
French superstar Bradley Barcola started the season with four goals in his first three matches.
He had a slight lean spell with just two goals in his next four domestic matches, but in recent weeks he has rediscovered his mojo with four goals and two assists in his last five matches.
Barcola scored two in PSG’s win on the road at Angers on Matchday 11, but drew a blank in the 3-0 win over Toulouse on Matchday 12.
He had a night of limited opportunities against Bayern in the Champions League on Tuesday. So back him to bounce back with a goal on Saturday.
