Rangers vs. Panthers prediction: NHL playoffs odds, picks, best bets for Game 4

The Rangers may have been dominated in Game 3 against the Panthers, but the scoreboard never lies; it’s now 2-1 for the Blueshirts.

DraftKings, who recognizes the Rangers are a massive hazard to its business, has installed the Rangers as sizable +140 underdogs for Tuesday night’s Game 4 in Sunrise, Fla.

The overwhelming expectation is that the Panthers win Game 4, although Post-Action betting expert Michael Leboff has expressed that this line is too wide considering what we’ve seen in this series.

But for this betting market, we’re targeting a player prop that has plenty of value Tuesday.

Rangers vs. Panthers Game 4 prediction

(8 p.m. ET, ESPN)

After being shut out at home in Game 1, the Rangers have won two consecutive overtime games, although injuries are beginning to mount.

The Rangers have also been struggling on several lines, as pointed out by The Post’s Mollie Walker.

A lineup featuring Filip Chytil, Chris Kreider, and Mika Zibanejad has been outplayed badly in this series, with a 7-1 deficit in high-danger chances.

The Rangers also haven’t scored on a power play yet, although they did snag a short-handed goal in Game 3.

Much has been made of the Rangers’ power play prowess and power play kill, but it’s the Panthers who hold a 3-0 power play goal advantage.

There are two ways to look at that.

You could argue that the Rangers are due for some positive regression in that category, and it’s a good sign for the Rangers that they’re ahead in the series despite that disadvantage.

Opportunities are favoring Florida 11-8, including six power play opportunities in Game 3.

The 6-2 discrepancy is quite wide, all things considered, the Rangers were the second-least penalized team in the NHL during the regular season.

Those powerplay opportunities could be tired legs or even injury-related, as the Rangers continue to play around with their lineups, but this is very irregular for the Blueshirts.

The Rangers and Panthers are prepared for a slog in Game 4, assuming they can maintain their composure.

Betting on the NHL?

Florida has its backs against the wall at home Tuesday, and it will be a true battle featuring two of hockey’s best and toughest fighting for everything they have.

This is why we’re targeting the under on the backs of a nine-goal explosion.

PICK: Under 5.5 total goals (-120, Caesars)
