Rangers vs St Mirren preview
Thursday was a must win game for Rangers and Philippe Clement and they stood up and got the result.
Pressure had mounted following the performance and result last weekend, where they fell further behind Celtic in the title race.
Granted, they weren’t up against much on Thursday against FCSB and got away with a refereeing blunder in the opening minutes, but it was a much improved performance with greater intensity.
Was it a corner turned? Rangers have been here before so it’s a case of wait and see on that front.
Tom Lawrence, Cyriel Dessers and Leon Balogun all left with varying injuries, though Dessers – no goals in his last six games – looks like he’ll be available for this.
Some difficult fixtures lie in wait so Sunday’s clash against an out-of-sorts St Mirren is important to put on another good display and get the result, particularly with the game kicking off at the same time as Celtic’s.
Saints have lost their last three games and it’s just one win in their last 11 games in all competitions – losing SEVEN of those.
Stephen Robinson penned a new contract in midweek and he’ll be hoping to end a six-game losing run against Gers when heading to Govan on Sunday.

Rangers vs St Mirren prediction and betting tips
Home comfort
Given how poor they are away from home, having home comforts again on Sunday should mean Rangers are more comfortable here.
Especially given St Mirren’s struggles so far this season, Gers can at the very least keep tabs with the top two.
Good home defensive record domestically which gives really good value for the away team to score here.

Vaclav Cerny has four goals in his last two games at Ibrox, including the double on Thursday.
Not too many options for that right-wing position so fortuitously kept his place from Sunday showing but repaid his manager big time.
