Total revenue across sports betting and land-based casino in the Bay State was US$155m, rising from $151.6m in May 2023.
Sports betting revenue in the month rose to $57m from $47.1m a year ago, coming from a 3.4 per cent year-on-year rise in total bets to $587.3m.
In Massachusetts’ land-based casino sector, revenue fell 6.2 per cent to $98m from $104.5m in May 2023.
Tax collections for sports betting increased 22.3 per cent year-on-year to $11.5m, but the figure fell 5.4 per cent to $27.6m.
Nevertheless, there were marginal increases of 0.5 per cent and 0.9 per cent in casino revenue and tax month-on-month.
Although, sports betting handle dropped from April 2024 by 2.7 per cent and tax collections were down 5.8 per cent from the prior month.
