Sunday Headlines: Barion Brown listed as top-10 receiver in college football

Good morning BBN!

Football season is quickly approaching as the Kentucky Wildcats look to take on one of the toughest schedules in the SEC. Featuring teams such as Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, and several others the Cats will need some firepower on the offensive side of the ball to go and win some games.

With a new-look offense, the wide receivers room features plenty of experience, and according to one ranking, a top-10 receiver in all of college football.

Phil Steele took to ranking the top-25 WRs that will be draft-eligible in 2025, and Kentucky’s Barion Brown made the list. Steele ranked Brown at No. 9 overall entering the season.

“One of the more interesting WR prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft is likely to be Barion Brown from Kentucky. That’s because he’s known as a weapon on special teams for the Wildcats, even being named a First-Team All-American and a Second-Team All-SEC selection in 2023 in large part thanks to that special team’s prowess,” writes Dan Morrison of On3.”

He continued:

“In 26 career games at Kentucky, Brown has 93 receptions for 1,167 yards and eight touchdowns. He also returned four kicks for touchdowns during his career. Three of those kick returns came during his sophomore campaign in 2023.”

If Brown does end up ranking in the top-10 wide-outs in college football, it will likely mean great things for this Kentucky football team.

Go Cats!
