Thursday Headlines: Kentucky Basketball in Pair of Top 25 Rankings Edition

We’re still a little less than a month away from the beginning of the regular season, but that isn’t stopping the preseason polls from being released, and the Kentucky Wildcats made an appearance in two notable Top 25 rankings.

KenPom’s H.U.M.A.N Poll has Kentucky ranked 16th in the country. The poll is based off votes by subscribers to the website. Evan Miya’s site has Kentucky ranked #22 overall.

Interestingly, both have Kentucky ranked right along with John Calipari’s Arkansas squad and Rick Pitino’s St. Johns team. In the KenPom rankings, St. Johns comes in at #18 and Arkansas at #19. In Evan Miya’s rankings, St. Johns comes in at 21st and Arkansas at 23rd.

These rankings also are high on the SEC with KenPom ranking 7 SEC teams inside the Top 25 and Evan Miya ranking 8 teams in the Top 25.

Obviously there isn’t a whole lot to take away from these two rankings without games being played, but it is interesting to see which teams Kentucky is ranked amongst.
