British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday said they want to take German-UK ties to “the next level” by forging a treaty by early next year. Downing Street described the effort as a “once in a generation opportunity” to “turn a corner on Brexit.”

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) earlier today suspended Sandip Ghosh’s membership in connection with the Kolkata rape and murder case. The suspension comes amid a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the rape and murder case from earlier this month. Earlier, Indian President Murmu also spoke about the incident and issued a rare condemnation. President Droupadi Murmu said, “Enough is enough”, as she highlighted the urgent need to step up societal overhaul to stop such crimes in future.
