LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) – Scott County native Malachi Moreno is staying in the bluegrass state.
The 6′11 center, who is listed as the 25th-ranked prospect in the class of 2025 according to 247sports, picked Kentucky over Indiana, Louisville, Arkansas and Ohio State among others in an announcement on Friday.
Moreno, who is a four-star prospect, averaged 16.0 points per game and was the state’s seventh-leading rebounder at 13.3 rebounds per game with Great Crossing last season.
Malachi is the younger brother of Michael Moreno, who played at Eastern Kentucky University the past few seasons and was a Mr. Kentucky Basketball finalist in 2019 with the Scott County Cardinals.
