It’s time for a reversal for the World Series champions, who didn’t give their faithful much of a return on their Monday night investment.
Two stars on the French Open clay are set to keep rising and shining early Wednesday morning and what may appear to be a rerun is playing before appreciative crowds again.
It’s Diana Taurasi and the “Remember How Good I Am” show, as she pays a visit to Seattle.
Detroit Tigers at Texas Rangers
The Tigers disappointed a big crowd of 28,000+ in Texas on Monday night, and payback is a, shall we say, a serious issue. The Tigers would seem to be in a comfortable position with dependable right-hander Jack Flaherty taking the mound against the Rangers’ Dane Dunning.
But wait.
Dunning is solid if not spectacular and he’s given up a total of six earned runs over his past four starts (18 1/3 innings) while striking out 24 hitters. He can do just enough through five or six innings to give the Texas offense a chance to atone for their paltry offensive output Monday night.
We’re banking on some payback.
Texas Rangers moneyline at -106 (FanDuel).
French Open
It’s starting to get serious now. And it’s time to play favorites, although the juice is a little steep.
It’s worth it, this time.
No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina is cruising through her portion of the draw, and No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka is equally impressive – and she is always an entertaining watch, making her matches even more appealing.
Betting on the Nos. 2 and 4 seeds to move forward is not exactly a daring move, but the two-woman parlay still brings us decent odds. We’re not gonna overthink this one. These two are very likely to move on.
Two-leg parlay of Rybakina and Sabalenka at -169 (DraftKings).
Phoenix Mercury at Seattle Storm
The Phoenix surge is surprising and the Storm are the next target.
Diana Taurasi has found her past mojo and leads this Brittney Griner-less team into Seattle.
The Mercury are again a big underdog, and – as we did last time – we’re going with the mighty Merc.
Coach Nate Tibbetts continues to find ways to exploit opposing defenses, and Kayleah Copper continues to be an All-Star-level threat.
Copper ranked third in the league with 22.9 points per game entering Tuesday, and Taurasi scores 17.8 as a nice complement.
Seattle’s Jewell Lloyd and Nneka Ogwumike average a combined 38.5 and will have something to day about Phoenix’s chances.
We just think the eight points is a little too much.
Phoenix quick parlay per DraftKings: Mercury +4.5 at half with +8 for the game at +154.
