Virgin Bet has announced a Personal Safety Parternship with the personal safety app WalkSafe.
The pair have come together to highlight the importance of safety and security at racing events around the country, especially for those people travelling alone.
WalkSafe is a free app that allows users to plan routes home to stay safe while they are walking alone, including features such as Safety Map, HomeSafe, Follow Me and WalkSafe journey sharing.
This partnership comes as part of Virgin Bet’s ‘A Good Bet,’ which looks at breaking pre-existing barriers and creating positive change within sports and culture, as it looks to help racegoers to remain safe.
At the Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup Festival in September, this collaboration will be officially launched, with WalkSafe Founder Emma Kay present to speak to, while this partnership will continue with all other Virgin Bet sponsored race throughout the 2024-25 racing calendar.
LiveScore Group CEO Sam Sadi said: “At Virgin Bet, as part of our ‘A Good Bet’ brand propositioning, we want to make sporting events a safe environment for women and men from start to finish, including travelling to and from a venue from home. By working with the excellent people at WalkSafe, this initiative is doing exactly that and is a first for the racing industry.”
WalkSafe Founder Emma Kay added: “We are so pleased to be working with Virgin Bet to highlight personal safety at sporting events. Partnerships like this shine a spotlight on the safety concerns people may have, and the app provides the technology, as well as the confidence and support they may need to get home safely.”
