Andy Murray has played his final singles match at the Wimbledon Championships.

The two-time Wimbledon champ withdrew from his first-round match against Tomas Machac on Tuesday and confirmed he won’t be returning to the grass courts as a singles competitor as his retirement looms. Murray had been attempting to make a quick return to play amidst his recovery from a June 22 procedure on a spinal cyst.

He will remain in the doubles bracket to compete with his brother Jamie.

The remainder of the Wimbledon field will finish up its second and final day of first-round action on Tuesday.

Jannik Sinner, the 22-year-old Italian who won the Australian Open earlier this year, is the current favorite to win the men’s singles tournament at Wimbledon. Sinner advanced as far the semifinals in last year’s tournament, where he lost to eventual runner-up Novak Djokovic in straight sets.

Iga Swiatek, the 23-year-old native of Poland, is the favorite in the women’s singles bracket fresh off of her third straight – and fourth overall – French Open title. Swiatek has never advanced past the quarterfinals in four previous appearances at Wimbledon.

Here are the odds for both the men’s and women’s singles championships for Wimbledon 2024.
